Twenty-two people were arrested early Tuesday, Jan. 11 in Ile de France as part of the investigation into the death of a municipal police, killed in a shooting caused by a commando raiders May 20, it was learned Wednesday.

Those arrested are suspected of involvement, as principals or accomplices in the shooting on the highway A4 Villiers-sur-Marne, or aiding fugitives in their run. They should be placed in custody in the premises of the judicial police in Paris.

"It is a mixture of young shoots of banditry and former commuter, including people from countries of the East", it was said a source close to the investigation. Conducted after eight months of investigation, the vast police operation was the result of a long process of monitoring and scientific work on items identified at the scene of the shooting.
